Raves Rules

To request a rose (or printed certificate) you must meet the following criteria. (Please note: We are very proud of ALL your writing accomplishments and want to rejoice with you when you announce your raves at the WIN meetings; however since this group is about Christian fiction writing, we must limit our rose awards to these related accomplishments.)

1. 1.Submit a finished fiction manuscript (one rose per manuscript)
   

2. 2.Receive a request from an editor or an agent to see a proposal or full manuscript. (One rose per manuscript no matter how many editors request it or you submit to.)
   

3. 3.Sign a fiction book publishing contract.
   

4. 4.Make the finals of a writing contest or win a writing contest
   

5. 5.Receive a writing award
   

6. 6.Publish a short story, magazine, or newspaper or newsletter article---this is for Christian Fiction only.
   

7. 7.Speak to other groups on the subject of writing fiction. (This includes teaching a class or workshop on writing fiction.)
   

8. 8.Sell a Christian fiction book to a book club other than the publishers' own (Crossings, Doubleday, etc)
   

9. 9.Accept a position to write regular articles/columns/reviews
   

10. 10.Make the CBA (Christian Booksellers Association), Waldenbooks, USA Today, or New York Times, best seller lists (one rose per book, per list, regardless of how many times it remains on the list)
    

11. 11.Sell a book to an audio publisher
    

12. 12. Sign a movie contract
    

13. 13.A one-time only rose award for an active blog site. (Active means updated daily or weekly and must be writing related.)
    

14. 14.Sign with an agent.

You must be present at the next meeting to receive the rose or certificate.
None will be mailed due to expense.

*Please note: Any roses or certificates not picked up at meeting

will be held for only two meetings, then recycled.
